My artistic practice

INK
My paintings are
an extension of my calligraphic practice - where letters give way
to gesture, rhythm
and abstraction.
Working instinctively with lines, strokes, textures and layers, I allow each composition to evolve through movement and emotion. Some works retain traces of calligraphy; others move completely beyond the letter, leaving only its energy behind.

MOVEMENT
Where the line begins to move.
Movement has always fascinated me - the gesture of a hand, the rhythm of a body, the pause between two motions.
Through dance and calligraphy, I explore how movement becomes a line, rhythm becomes a stroke, and the energy of the body leaves a visual trace.
